Mamikon Hovsepyan, executive director of Pink Armenia, an organization set to protect the rights of the LGBT community, was recently announced the winner of the 2017 Bob Hepple Equality Award. Hovsepyan speaks of the challenges facing the LGBT community in Armenia from social acceptance, to legislation, to discrimination in the media and the general lack of knowledge and diversity.
