In this week’s episode, Samson Avetian speaks with Emma Arakelyan, founding partner of BAJ Accelerator. They spoke about the need for increased domestic corporate investment into innovation and R&D, Arakelyan's recent initiative launching BAJ Accelerator in NYC as a complementary networking and finance channel for Armenian start-ups and founders; the strengths and opportunities of the domestic tech and entrepreneurial cluster and the promotion of women and gender equality in Armenia, both as an issue of fairness as well as a distinct competitive advantage for the Armenian start-up and innovation ecosystem. 

Emma Arakelyan is a distinguished professional with many years in leading positions in globally renowned IT advisory and consulting companies such as Accenture and EY. For years, she was an active member of both the Armenian as well as the East Coast start-up and innovation scene. She is the founding partner of BAJ Accelerator, founder of Orion Worldwide Innovations, a Featured Speaker at Columbia Business School and a Advisor and Mentor at Singularity University.

Samson Avetian is the VP of Angel Investor Club of Armenia. He is the author of the book “Armenia’s Economy: The Next 25 Years.” Avetian is an Adjunct Lecturer at the American University of Armenia, where he is also a mentor at the EPIC incubator and is an invited instructor at Yerevan State Medical University. Avetian’s career has included engagements in Sweden and internationally. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School.
