Vahram Soghomonyan, co-editor of Political Discourse Journal, recently spoke at parliament against the proposed flat tax system in Armenia. Soghomonyan explains why he believes a non-progressive taxation system will not only deepen the income inequality between the capital Yerevan and Armenia’s regions, but will also compromise the alliance established between the citizens during the Velvet Revolution.
