This week’s host is Arthur Ispirian, a musician and Director of Archives of Armenia’s Public Radio. Ispirian walks through the neighborhoods of his childhood, reminiscing and singing along the way.

Gevorg Emin (1919-1998) - Armenian poet, translator and essayist. 

Composers House - A building that houses the Composers Union of Armenia and residential apartments specifically built for Soviet Armenian composers in the 1960s. 

Konstantin Orbelyan (1928-2014) - Armenian composer, pianist and head of the Armenian State Jazz Orchestra from 1956 to 1992. 

Stepan Shakaryan (1935-2019) - Armenian jazz and classical composer. 

Khachatur Avetisyan (1926–1996) - Armenian composer famous for his arrangements of national Armenian melodies and compositions for Armenian folk instruments. 

Armenian Radio Archive - The archive of Armenia’s Public Radio is currently being digitized by Artur Ispiryan. 

Alexandr Harutyunyan (1920-2012) - Armenian composer, known for his trumpet Concerto composed in 1950. 

Martiros Saryan (1880-1972) - Armenian painter, founder of the Armenian school of modern painting. 

Hovhannes Shiraz (1914-1984) - Armenian poet. 

Azat Sherents (1913-1993) - Armenian actor, one of the founders of Armenian cinematographic comedy. 

Frunzik (Mher) Mkrtchyan - Armenian stage and film actor. 

Minas Avetisyan (1928-1975) - Armenian painter. 

William Saroyan (1908-1981) - Armenian-American playwright and novelist.
