Hasmik Movsisian had the idea to create an online space that would bring together Armenian musicians and musicians who perform Armenian music or play traditional Armenian instruments. However, the initiative soon grew out of its original concept and now Music of Armenia has gone from organizing festivals, to becoming a production company to joining UNESCO’s International Music Council.

What we talked about: 

 

- Music of Armenia was founded in 2008 in the UK to promote and bring together Armenian music and musicians through online platforms.

 

- Music of Armenia has organized the Yerevan Duduk Festival, Sharakan Festival, Sounds of Sevan Festival, Women’s Musical Month. 

 

- Some of the most important elements and aspects of traditional Armenian music, such as the duduk, Ashugh, Gusan and Sacred music is presented to global audiences.
